FAQs

  • While we do feed our cattle a grass heavy diet, we found the flavor of the beef to be a bit more delicious with some grain added during the finishing process. We use our certified organic grains in a homemade feed mix.

  • We operate a certified organic farm, meaning we certify our land and crops. We do not certify our livestock. They are all raised according to the USDA's NOP (National Organic Program). We have found the additional regulatory paperwork is not worth certifying with how we are already raising the animals.

  • Regenerative agriculture is a system of farming that seeks to improve the quality of soil and health of the ecosystem by adopting the five principles of soil health: minimize soil disruption, keep soil covered, plant diverse crop rotations, maintain a living root as often as possible and integrate livestock. It is a whole-systems approach to farming sustainably, which just so happens to result in the most nutrient dense and outstandingly flavorful food.
